January US Consumer Price Index data showed a slightly higher than expected rise of 0.7pct with the core statistic excluding food and energy rising 0.2pct as expected . This should be slightly helpful to traders who are looking for a rise in the US Dollar, but whether it can take the currency into new trading ranges is doubtful.
